August Soul Reading: Part Four of Five

Feel like all your efforts have left you frozen or stuck? We continue with August's Soul Reading on feeling like you are frozen or stuck.

Issue #3: Sometimes the solution is as simple as holding yourself accountable. It may be uncomfortable, but sometimes we think we are working harder than we actually are. The other side of this can be that you are working hard, but because of lack of accountability, you are focusing in the wrong areas.

You need to dig in this week and take a hard look at yourself. Try not to place blame or find excuses. “If only they hadn’t done this or if only the weather had been better… “Just be an observer for now. Take a hard and honest look at where you are and what you’ve done so far.

Fix: You’re going to look at the cause and effect of why you are where you are. Make a list of all the reason you could’ve stalled out. How many are because of outside forces? How many are because of you? Be honest.

Now ask yourself: Why did this happen? Once again we aren’t looking to blame. We want information that will empower you. Maybe the delays are so the universe can get your project on the perfect timeline.  Maybe it’s because you’ve pointed yourself in the wrong direction and your guides are trying to turn you the other way. Maybe you didn’t put enough energy into it.  There could be dozens of possibilities. Just remember this: Everything is a learning experience. Figure out what you can learn from it and move on.

Action Step: The best way to hold yourself accountable is to track yourself by either recording your efforts or having a partner who can hold you accountable. Find someone you can trust to help keep you accountable.

Let’s say your goal was to lose weight, but you feel like you’ve stalled out. The best steps could be to start a food and exercise journal to track everything you are doing. The next thing you can do is enlist the help of a friend to make sure you stay on track. Maybe they call and ask how things are going or they can go work out with you. It’s about having a realistic view on what your doing. Outside help can assist you with that.
