2017 New Year Soul Tarot Reading for the Collective

This year’s reading is a bit different. It’s not your typical month by month energetic forecast. I do find those helpful, but if last year taught me anything, it’s that things change moment to moment. I wanted to find something that would be more helpful to you and more stable. Something more True.

I reached out to my Guides for help designing this. I chose to combine two decks: The Keepers of the Light Oracle by Kyle Gray and The Animals Divine Tarot by Lisa Hunt. The Guide Team wanted it in the shape of an infinity symbol because they are trying to let us know that it isn’t so much about the start of the year and the end of the year. It’s a constant process that continually flows through out the year. You may find that you complete the first cycle of it in a month. Then start it all over the next month and learn more--and find that journey takes 6 months. If we limited ourselves to just learning month by month or started to think "I’m almost done", then we miss out on some great opportunities.

I chose Keepers of the Light because I wanted to include two energy beings for you to work with throughout the year. Energies to act as additional guides and help for you. They cross at the center of infinity, acting like an anchor point and grounding you. Ask them to help you this year. They can't help unless you ask!

2017 is the year to stand fully in your Truth Joan of Arc Voice of Truth. In fact, it's vital that you do so. On a global level, we are moving into the Truth whether we want to or not. Go with the flow. This means stepping into your light and really embracing ALL that you are.

Often, we live our lives hiding parts of ourselves we feel certain groups of people would judge or parts we are uncomfortable with. Spirit tells us that ALL of those parts make up our beautiful, sparkly selves and that by holding back things from others, we end up holding ourselves back. It’s time to shine bright and be who you really are. Stop hiding. Share what you think. Share what you feel. Share who you are. Be Proud of how far you have come. You may just inspire someone else to speak their Truth and shine their light, too.

So how do you step into your truth? It’s easy to talk about letting the real you shine, but sometimes it’s hard to do that. Spirit has provided us with a list of things to work on for the first part of the year.

First, clear up any confusion that is blocking your joy The Sun Horus Reversed. Overwhelm and anxiety can cloud over and block our Sun from shining. Not good. So how do you find Joy in times where it doesn't seem to exist? You don't! The thing to realize is that this Sun, this Joy, never goes away. The clouds may be in front of it and we may not see it, but it is still there and it still shines. Even when the Moon is out, we know the Sun is still shining somewhere. The key here is to remember this.

Start by asking yourself, what is clouding your view? Is it something you can release or change?  What are these clouds trying to tell you? What are you trying to learn from the rainy day? Writing in your journal or meditating about what blocks your sun can help you clear away the clouds. Take some time to really sit down and look at the shadow side. It’s trying to teach you something. If you do the work, you will come out shining brighter than before.

Next step is to fill your soul tank The Empress Hera. It’s all about taking care of yourself and doing some self-nurturing, so you can shine that light to others. Schedule some time every day to do something that nourishes you. Take a bath. Read a good book. Nap. Cook. Walk. Garden. Whatever fills you up, do it. When you are nourished and nurtured, you’re more likely to stand fully in your Truth(and have an easier time doing so).

Self nurturing? Check. Clearing the clouds? Check. Now, It’s time to stretch beyond your comfort zone! Seven of Pentacles Giraffe Go do something that makes you uncomfortable in a good way. Maybe it’s starting a new class, making a new friend,  or going to yoga. The idea is to stimulate your sense of adventure and learn or experience something new this year. Put energy into seeing and doing something new, so you walk away with a greater understanding of your own Truth.

Fourth, eliminate the extra “stuff”. Orchestrate a plan that allows you to cut away the extraneous stuff from life Seven of Cups Dolphin. You know what I’m talking about. It’s the stuff that takes away from your focus and affects your Soul Compass. A good way to identify what that may be:  This stuff can starts with the comment, “I should…..” or “Everyone expects…” . Those things are not doing you any favors. Cut them out and you will have so much more energy to put towards your true goals. Which ties directly into our next card...

Take a look around—what’s making you tired or depressed? These things are what are closing you off from the Divine The Star Reversed Kuan Yin. It’s time to reopen those closed channels by not only getting rid of what is shutting them down(see above), but consciously working on growing your Divine connection and expanding your gifts.  Work on developing your intuition. Every day strengthen your connection to the Divine and to your higher self. Take a psychic development class, read a book on connecting to your higher self, or study a new spiritual practice. The next big step is to expect that miracles will happen if you do the work The Holy Spirit Expect Miracles . If we reach out and ask for help, Spirit won’t let us down. The trick is to be unattached to the outcome. Give spirit the space to work by letting them know your intent and allowing them to work out the details. How do I do this? I imagine the challenge I'm facing as a beautifully wrapped white package. I visualize handing this gift over to my Guides. It's my signal that I'm ready for them to take over and work out the details. Need a new living space and have no idea how you will get one? Hand it over. Want your dream job? Hand it over. Your Guides are here to help you. Use them. Trust them. This phase of the year is all about clearing the way and watching the magic unfold.

So how you do expect miracles and learn to trust Spirit? Well the Divine has a few ideas for this as well:

Reach out and ask for help when you get discouraged. Seven of Swords Crane Reversed. Ask your friends and family. Make sure you ask your Guides. You aren’t in this alone. If you need to, find a therapist where you can get clarity and talk things though. The idea is to reach out and get the help you need in whatever form you need it in. No one can help you, if you don't ask.

Even though you did major clean up in the first half of the year, it’s time to see what has popped for additional clearing. Nine of Swords Crow Reversed It’s time to give voice to what still isn't working and change it. What’s still bothering you? The longer you bottle it up, the worse it becomes. It can lead to depression and anxiety. This card calls on you to express yourself. Let people know what you are thinking. Release in a productive way. If you're feeling pushed down, tell them. Overwhelmed? Angry? Tell them. The idea here is to surround yourself with people who are supportive of what you need--but also challenge you to rise to your highest.

Understand that you are filled with the Divine Spark. You are empowered already, you just need to step into that power. Queen of Pentacles White Buffalo Calf Woman We are all connected. By empowering yourself, you help those around you become empowered. It spreads. If you don’t step up, then you are doing a disservice to the world. Get involved. Go to school. Volunteer. Donate. it’s time to change the world and you are going to do it. Get involved in your community. Work with people in your neighborhood to beautify it. The time has come for you to stand up from your chair and take action. You can do this. Help the world step into its Truth one person at a time.

Stay positive. Things may not always work out on your timeline or the way you had hoped. Keep at it. Ten of Cups Whale Reversed Find the happiness, find the joy--even when it’s a challenge. Don’t let yourself be discouraged. Don’t let your emotions get the best of you. Keep believing and keep hope. Miracles DO happen and Miracles WILL happen to you. Give Spirit time to work it all out and keep the Faith.

At the end of 2017, what should you do? Sit back and enjoy the success of your year. Recap all the amazing things that happened to you. Recognize the miracles that occurred. You may not see it at first, but once you start going over the year, you will see the amazing things you and Spirit created together. Celebrate that success! Six of Pentacles Prairie Dog
